Career Opportunities
Opening: Account Executive and Logistics Coordinator - FTE, Portland
Our technology consulting and product firm is searching for a superhero for our downtown Portland office. Specifically we're looking for a person to function in an Account Executive and Logistics Coordinator capacity for our professional services division. This superhero needs to have a hands-on attitude, great writing skills, some client-relations background and administrative experience. Event coordination experience is preferred. Experience with negotiating with vendors would be even better!

During the first year of this job, duties will be more on the administrative and coordination side while the new Superhero learns our business, clients, and brand. But this is not an administrative position. This is an opportunity to train for account management on a consulting/professional services team. Both willingness to do a heavy administrative load and enthusiasm for client-service tasks are vital!

The following things are requirements of the job. These are NOT negotiable:
  • Strong client-oriented writing skills (attach a writing sample, please)
  • Willingness to be on the phone much of the day with clients, venue coordinators at class sites, travel agents, and with our trainers.
  • Willingness to ask for deeper discounts from vendors – comfort with haggling is important.
  • Ability to compose, type, and send well thought-out emails to high level clients (don't forget grammar and spelling)
  • Desire to do hands-on work – we have to actually DO the work, not just think about it
  • Ability to work full time (40 hrs a week)
  • Basic computer skills, email, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Enthusiasm for taking on administration duties associated with company's delivery of professional services
  • Willingness to blaze a trail WITH an ability to follow directions

Candidates with the experience below will be given extra consideration:
  • Professional Services experience (consulting, audit, PR, ad, law or other)
  • Manage input and tracking of leads in company CRM system
  • Public speaking or presentation skills
  • Strong editing and writing skills to help other staff members in a pinch
  • Understanding of large-company purchasing processes and how to navigate them as a contracts person
  • Work experience with government clients
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a sometimes-hectic environment

So enough about what we want from you! What can we offer? We're a stable but small, seven-year-old business based in the Seattle area but with a strong Portland presence. We do technology consulting so our environment is a cool mix of tech-casual and professional services. We offer our employees and their Dependants 100% employer paid medical coverage through a premium carrier. We offer all employees short-term disability, long-term disability and life insurance along with a 401k. Pre-tax accounts including those for medical care, dependent care, and transportation are open to all employees. Although this is a full-time position, we offer flexible scheduling, upon mutual agreement of employees, teams and supervisors and are supportive of employees’ educational and professional pursuits.

Our company is an equal opportunity employer.
