Opening: Business Development Manager with a Finance Background
Description:
Our software company seeks a Business Development Manager with a strong finance background for our downtown Portland, Oregon office. Specifically, we're looking for someone to actively tie our business planning documents to our strategic growth plans to ensure that we are working through our strategic initiatives at a relevant pace.During the first months of the job the Business Development Manager will:
- work closely with our Executive team (President and CTO) to develop an understanding of our business and industry
- learn the vision of company owners in order to integrate that vision into all outputs
- understand our current business planning documents and financial models
- provide suggestions on tools that might help us better evaluate the financial impact of strategic initiatives
- analyze our history of growth and identify apparent growth triggers
- communicate with executive team and management teams, how the implementation of various strategic initiatives might impact us financially
- remain mindful of company values, direction, and overall vision
- manage our finance and accounting staff on both short-term and long-term projects
The following things are requirements of the job (NOT negotiable):
- 5-7+ years in the role of Business Development and/or financial analyst
- Minimum 2+ years at a software company in a finance or business development role
- 3+ years doing financial modeling in a GAAP environment
- 1+ years experience utilizing Salesforce.com, or similar CRM
- 2+ years experience with QuickBooks Pro, Premier, or Enterprise
- 3+ years experience managing a Profit and Loss
- Previous experience presenting managerial reports to executives
- Ability to be a self-starter
- Ability to take responsibility and make independent decisions
- Ability to work more than 40 hours a week (expect 50+ hours a week)
Candidates with the experience below will be given extra consideration:
- Knowledge of the agile software development industry
- Previously held a similar job with a competitor
- Previous experience working at a training company of any kind
